It's time for another daft quiz, and once again, it's brought to you by Bits Of Trivia I Picked Up While Doing My Day Job. Today's specialist subject: fishing techniques! Never let it be said that I do not bring you pebbles from the deepest (and dampest) corners of the infoworld.
But if you're all out of ideas, here are the correct answers: jigging, trolling, noodling, deadsticking, flounder tramping and bottom bouncing are all genuine methods of catching fish. The others were made up by me, and so are at best untested. But if you feel like kicking a cod in the interests of science, be sure to let me know how you get on.
Incidentally, the same watery research led me to discover the existence of turtle excluder devices. I'm glad to hear that they exist, but just a teensy bit disappointed that they don't consist of big signs bearing messages like "TURTLES GO HOME", "ZERO TOLERANCE FOR TERRAPINS", and "DON'T ASK, DON'T SHELL".
In other news, I need to warn any Merlinite viewers that I'll be away on Saturday night, so you'll have to wait until Sunday or Monday for my weekly recap. I hear it's going to be a rather chilly weekend in most of the UK, but I'm hoping there'll be a few warm knights to look forward to...
